Scholars Document Chest
This heavy chest houses custom fitted, new construction, wood rack that holds standard legal files. The front entry hinge plate and the side carry handles are made of an old alloy known as paktong (copper, nickel and zinc) that is a very strong, durable metal used often in furniture construction during the late 1850's-1900's time frame. The hinge plate is fastened to the chest with cotter pins.
