Small Ikat

This Ikat was purchased in Jakarta Indonesia.  Ikat is a dyeing technique used to pattern fabrics. Ikat dyeing differs from Batik due to the yarns being dyed first and then the weaver lines up the yarns to create a double sided pattern.  Ikats are more difficult to produce than Batiks.
