Believed to exhibit the Neoclassical styles of the Regency or Empire era of the late 1800's, these open arm chairs, were constructed in Indonesia in the mid 1900's. The saber legs are slightly tapered and there is an apron in the corner of each front leg that connects to the seat rail. The stiles are vertically upright that adjoin to an ornately carved top rail . A decorative channelling technique embellishes the beautifully carved back splat. The seat base is of woven canework.
